The following is from Senator Joe Biden on yesterday’s Meet the Press:
For me, as a Roman Catholic, I’m prepared to accept the teachings of my church…I’m prepared as a matter of faith to accept that life begins at the moment of conception. But that is my judgment. For me to impose that judgment on everyone else who is equally and maybe even more devout than I am seems to me is inappropriate in a pluralistic society.
So Biden claims he believes that life begins at the moment of conception. He also believes that he can’t impose that view on anyone else. This is what Cardinal Egan had to say about phony politicians like Biden:
No one with the slightest measure of integrity or honor could fail to know what these marvelous beings manifestly, clearly, and obviously are, as they smile and wave into the world outside the womb. In simplest terms, they are human beings with an inalienable right to live…Anyone who dares to defend that they may be legitimately killed because another human being “chooses” to do so or for any other equally ridiculous reason should not be providing leadership in a civilized democracy worthy of the name.
If Biden is prepared to accept the teachings of his Church then he better start paying attention to the teachers.
Perhaps he should arrange a meeting with Cardinal Egan so that he could be informed that abortion is murder. The Cardinal could also give him a science lesson and instruct him that there is a scientific basis for being pro-life. It’s not just religious sentimentalism as Biden seems to believe.
