Please, No More Waffling

The following quote is from Archbishop Burke, head of the Vatican’s highest court:

“A person who commits sin in this way should be publicly admonished in such a way as to not receive Communion until he or she has reformed his life,” the archbishop said. “If a person who has been admonished persists in public mortal sin and attempts to receive Communion, the minister of the Eucharist has the obligation to deny it to him. Why? Above all, for the salvation of that person, preventing him from committing a sacrilege,” he added. (Lifesite News)

Archbishop Niederauer of San Francisco has received many letters and emails requesting that something be done about House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, who is a resident of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Concerned Catholics are questioning why she is still able to receive Holy Communion. Archbishop Niederauer, in a letter to his flock, says that he is still trying to discern the issue.

According to the statement by Archbishop Burke, it would appear that an extraordinary Eucharistic minister has the right to deny Pelosi Holy Communion. After all, she has been publicly admonished by a number of bishops, yet she persists in her defiance of the Church. Will it have to be a lay Eucharistic minister who actually does something about this disgraceful situation?

Hopefully, Archbishop Niederauer will come to the realization that the imposition of Canon 915 would be beneficial for the Church and the soul of Nancy Pelosi. The Eucharist must be protected from sacrilege. Innocent babies must be protected from pro-death politicians like Nancy Pelosi. The Church’s teachings must be protected from erroneous doctrine.

This is no time to be indecisive. There is far too much at stake.
