Why is it that radical feminists only support the elevation of other radical feminists in their delusional pursuit of “gender equality”? Case in point is the GOP nominee for vice president, Sarah Palin. Palin, unlike the Democratic Party also ran, Hillary Clinton, apparently has made her own way in politics. She didn’t latch on to her husband’s coattails in order to be elected to a prominent political position.
Her reward for actually making it on her own is an increasing number of vitriolic attacks from the so-called champions of women’s equality. For example, here is an excerpt from a Speaking Out piece in this morning’s D&C:
As a former Hillary, and now an Obama follower, I couldn’t possibly consider Palin as a legitimate substitute. And I am certain Hillary supporters nationally would agree here. I believe in democratic ideals, and I battle the front lines daily in the effort to achieve parity between the sexes. As a champion for gender equality, I do not, nor could I ever, support McCain/Palin…The headline, “Palin Shatters the Glass Ceiling,” reflects a deceptively constructed ceiling with restricted altitude and narrow reach…The presumption that Palin’s nomination translates into advancement for women is both infuriating and decidedly miscalculated.
This self proclaimed champion of gender equality is Barbara LaSavoy, the director of SUNY Brockport’s Women and Gender Studies program. Ms. LaSavoy attacks Palin for her “anti-choice and rifle carrying views”. Apparently, women are not to be elevated if they are against fetal homicide and like to carry rifles. It seems to me that LaSavoy is the one who is “constructing a ceiling with restricted altitude and narrow reach”.
As Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi have been a gift to pro-life Catholics, Sarah Palin is a gift to those who oppose radical feminism. Sarah Palin will expose the feminist hypocrisy and show us the truly blood thirsty nature of these radical pro-aborts.
And we thought this was going to be a boring election.
